coming to australia has made me very cheapskate.
not prudent, not thrifty, thankfully not stingy, but cheapskate.
nowadays, the words "free lunch" are music to my ears
because it means that i won't have to think about what to cook, or spend any $$ on lunch.
usually i'm at such lunches with a legitimate reason.
but considering how cheap i've become i crashed a 'compatriot lunch' that was only meant for international students who are a minority on campus this afternoon.
for instance, my finnish friend was automatically eligible to go, so my taiwanese friend and i decided to tag along even though students from singapore and china form the bulk of the international students.
heh.
in the end no one really bothered about us.
i think they were too happy to have found their fellow countrymen on campus
while my friend and i sat there trying to look the part of students from some other random part of asia :)
