i'm driving slow on sunday morning, and i never want to leave

just got back from sydney 2 days ago and i must say, it was a really awesome/wicked/fantastic trip!

we went to lots of different places and so many things within a short span of 4 full days - from the morning run around the botanic gardens and the harbour bridge, to the flea markets at glebe and the rocks, to eating the yummylicious san churros, to the mouth-watering oysters, prawns, sashimi, lobster at the fish market, to the crazy road trip up the blue mountains with our not-so-reliable gps named garmin, to singing with the ukuleles at coogee and bondi, chilling out at the sydney harbour, gorging ourselves with pancakes on the rocks...

mm, everything, especially the weather and of course, the wonderful company of geri, jason, elsa, jess and zhi yong was perfect.

i don't think i would have wanted to explore and experience sydney any other way :)

on my plane ride and bus ride back to melbourne,
i spent some time looking through the photos taken with people who came up to visit in melbourne (tiff, jamie, kenneth, zy, jess, jia min) and people in sydney and my heart was filled with a surge of joy and thankfulness at the countless blessings and abundant love that the Lord has poured out on me.

the selfish part of me wishes that all those i love could be in melbourne with me each and every day
but i know that it's the fleeting moments we get to spend with each other that makes us cherish them all the more.

so i guess, there's really nothing more i could ask for!

here's some uncut/unedited photos for the moment,
more to be uploaded on fb soon :)

(do not) disturb

sometimes, it's nice when no one bothers you.
other times, you wonder if they simply forgot.

i'll be alright if it was just til' st patrick's day

it's 11.08pm on sat night,
(2 days away from my actual submission deadline,
1 day away from my own deadline because i want to actually have a life on sunday)
and my first and last psych essay (thankfully!) of this sem is finally coming together.

this has to be the most painful essay writing process i have ever had to go through by far.
5 weeks ago, i picked my topic and thought to myself,
"gee that's going to be easy"
but boy, was i wrong.

i have never rewritten an essay 84376723 times,
with a different stand each time
after hitting a brickwall with insufficient research,
having to re-read old research, search for new research,
compile new research, re-think previous stand,
backspace everything/open new document,
retype everthing, re-insert citations, quotations, author's dates and years.
AHH.

plus jessica is here and i desperately want to go out and meet her,
plus spring decided to actually become spring over the past few days instead of the usual cold, rainy, crappy winter leftovers -

give me break!

ok 2 more paragraphs to go,
hopefully my stand remains the same,
too tired to keep swinging back and forth between agree and disagree at this stage,
not smart enough to write one of those intelligent-sounding, convincingly argumentative essays that sit on the fence and yet succeed in making at point.

hopefully, i don't overshoot 2000 words by too much either because i honestly cannot be bothered switching around 'the's and 'and's anymore.

ok breathe.

then conclusion.

print.

*note to self: keep precious final essay in safe place away from heater so it doesn't catch fire.

wish me luck.

running for life

alrighty, it's time to shake off the dust and get this thing going again.

i literally ran my butt off for the nike human race on sunday.

for someone who has never run more than 5km, i was certainly pleased with the way the race went.
for starters, the weather was perfect,
(not too hot, not too cold and it stopped drizzling just in time)
the songs on my 'run run run!' playlist flowed extremely well,
i wasn't panting or dying at any point,
everyone's spirits were high,
and it was just such a fun race to part of overall.

and oh, the best part was just after the race,
when the endorphins were going into overdrive;
my friend and i just stood there smiling and laughing like idiots for completely no reason.

then came monday.

woke up with the most horrible, painful, paralyzing butt/leg/rest of body/ache ever!
it was as if my body was taking revenge for my slight over-confidence from the day before.
(i had secretly praised myself for being able to complete the race in good time)

looks like i have a lot of training to do before i do something like this again!
